Below you find a part of the radio collection Bruce Harkness - including other related items. Though not new to electronics, I am new to radio restoration and tube sets in general. I own five tube radios, the newest of which is a Kenwood TS-830S Hybrid HF Ham radio from 1982, the oldest is a Hammarlund HQ-120X HF receiver from 1939 that used to belong to my great-grandfather. He was a ham operator before there were hams and a member of the Old-Old Timers Club for which one had to prove he was operating a set before 1909. His call-sign was W2WWG and his QTH was in Queens New York. I, too, am a ham with newly acquired general license KD2ORG, but I hope to set up a QTH in Tokyo, Japan, before long. To help learn the craft before I tackle my more complicated radios I am restoring three Japanese radios, none of which were in RMorg's database until I sent in pictures and what info I had on them. |
