Below you find a part of the radio collection Jeff Foley - including other related items. I had been interested in electronics since a very early age. In high school I was able to take electronics classes, and was introduced to the Radio Club. This turned out to be an amateur radio club. I started learning morse code and radio electronics theory, and received my first amateur radio license in 1972. I built my first transmitter (Heathkit DX-60B) and receiver (Heathkit HR-10B). I received my Advanced Class license before I enlisted in the Air Force in 1976, where I got into communications and networking. My interest in ham radio waned during the 20 years I served in the military. I retired in 1997 and let my license lapse. In 2012 I tested and earned my Extra Class license. I'm now active in amateur radio and have developed an interest in vintage and antique radio equipment and test equipment. I also enjoy building my own equipment. |
