Below you find a part of the radio collection Robert Rydzewski - including other related items. Like early "light socket" (AC powered) sets, Kellogg tubes, "midgets" and "mantle radios. Most of my collection consists of American sets from 1925-1941. I have, for example, a Marti 2R10 and a working Sparton 110AC (with BH rectifier). I also am interested in California radios made in and around the Gilfillan factory in Los Angeles circa 1930. Recently I've taken an interest in German radios after being impressed by the sound quality of a Telefunken Gavotte radio I picked up cheap and needing repairs. I can send you pictures of my second German set, an Emud Junior 61. I also have a couple of UK sets in my collection, but these are hard to get here in the US. As far as technical abilities go I can recap and fix most common problems and align most sets but I do get stumped once in a while. Am working on my cabinet refinishing skills, but am only so-so at it now.I enjoy the history and design aspects of the radio hobby too. I'm also a member of the California Historical Radio Society. |
