Sofronios Markidis, Greece - Radio collection

Below you find a part of the radio collection Sofronios Markidis - including other related items. In the last 20 years i've been collecting and restoring old radios and other kinds of electronic devices too. I live in Drama, a small town in northern Greece. I was a physics teacher in high schools but I retired 2 years ago. I know the art of electronics since i was a young boy. When I was 13 years old I was taught by a radio technician. In the greek market there aren't many old radios, and if you find any they will be dated from the 50's and on. In Athens there are some old pieces but they are imported from abroad. The past 10 years i've been buying radios from the USA and Germany mostly, through ebay. In the future I intend to enrich my collection with more pieces. Sofronios Markidis Radiofonias-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Εδώ και 20 χρόνια περίπου ασχολούμαι με την συλλογή και επισκευή-αποκατάσταση παλαιών ραδιοφώνων αλλά και άλλων ηλεκτρονικών συσκευών και οργάνων. Ζω στη Δράμα, μια μικρή πόλη στη βόρεια Ελλάδα. Η δουλειά μου ήταν καθηγητής φυσικής σε δημόσια λύκεια και εδώ και 2 χρόνια είμαι συνταξιούχος. Την τέχνη αυτήν την έμαθα από μικρός, 13 χρόνων όταν μαθήτευσα κοντά σε έναν ραδιοτεχνίτη. Στην ελληνική αγορά δεν υπάρχουν πολλά παλιά ραδιοφωνα κι αν υπάρχουν είναι της δεκαετίας του 50 και νεότερα. Τα παλαιότερα που μπορεί να βρει κανείς, κυρίως στην Αθήνα, στη μεγάλη τους πλειοψηφία έχουν εισαχθεί από το εξωτερικό. Εδώ και 10 περίπου χρόνια οι πηγές μου ήταν κυρίως η Αμερική και η Γερμανία από όπου έκανα τις αγορές μου μέσω του ebay. Έχω την πρόθεση να εμπλουτίσω τη συλλογή μου και με νέα κομμάτια.
