While this company started in 1920, it was not until 1933 that wireless communication manufacture began in earnest. An independent research laboratory was opened in 1937. In March 1935 the first trial tube C-204 (RCA UV204), and others, was started but problems were found with this tube and unsuccessful results occurred. The following year 1936 saw mass production introduced. This included the water cooled C-167 tube. In December 1937 the company received a certificate from the Japan Broadcast Society for two tubes: KX-12B and UX-26B. Production of other US type tubes(56, 80 etc) was commenced. In November 1939 the company introduced the FB-325A transmitting tube, which was used exclusively for aircraft. The tube production of Kawanishi was spun off into the new company Kobe Kogyo (TEN) in 1949, who merged into Fujitsu Limited in 1968. |
