Philips A. Deterling received a patent for a special talking machine cabinet, filed June 30 1915, patented August 28, 1917 (US Patent No. 1238112).
There is photographic record of an earlier "Victrola". Photographs have been taken for Philip A. Deterling, Superintendent of Bell Brothers Piano Company, on Oct 8th 1916. They show a similar design like the later patented talking machine cabinet.
