Summary:

Radio Craft (Hudds.) LTD.; Huddersfield

Herstellung von Musiker-Verstärkern mit hoher Ausgangsleistung.

Founded: 1945
Production: 1945 -
History:

Matamp founder, Mat Mathias, started the company Radio Craft as early 1945. What started as an interest ultimately developed into a fully-fledged business building amplifiers for the burgeoning music scene in the early sixties. Behind his wife’s retail shop, selling accessories to young musicians, Mat’s workshop/manufacturing facility also extended into a fully fledged recording studio complete with disc cutters for young bands to record and cut their own demos. This resulted in the formation of MAT Records.
Mat Mathias sadly died in 1989 and left the company to his sons, who eventually decided to concentrate on other business interests and passed the baton over to Jeff Lewis – a long-time associate of Mat’s.
Today, Matamp’s custom business is global. Matamp’s new custom service lets customers choose from a range of preamps, output stages and head/combo cabinets, all assembled and tweaked to perfection by a small but highly experienced team of artisans.

This manufacturer was suggested by Hannes Gerber.
