Mingay's Wireless Manufacturing Ltd. was located at 60 Castlereagh street Sydney.

History:

Oswald (Ossie) Mingay was a very well known radio engineer and publisher.  He was born in 1895.  After serving in Europe during WW1 he helped re-build the civil telephone exchange at Charleroi, Belgium and became an instructor at the Université du Travail.  In 1919 he gained further experience at the General Post Office, London.   He returned to Australia in 1920.

Mingay joined the Burgin Electric Co. Ltd. in 1922 and became manager of its radio station 2BE in 1924.  In 1925 he resigned and formed Mingay's Wireless Manufacturing Ltd.  This business failed in 1929.  In 1930 he founded the Australian Radio College and persuaded a publisher to produce the Radio Retailer of Australia.  Differences with the publisher led to Mingay starting his own publishing company; Mingay Publishing Co. Ltd and buying Radio Retailer of Australia from the original publisher.

Mingay went on to publish many periodicals and books over the next 35 years, such as The Radio Review of Australia, Radio Trade Annual and Service Manual and Radio Diagram and IF Index.  These are an invaluable resource for the radio collector and restorer of today.

Mingay retired in 1965.  He died in 1973.
