Arcadian radio Ltd, sold radio parts from 114 Elizabeth St. Brisbane, Queensland, from September 1933. They manufactured and sold kits under the Lake-set brand and complete radios under the Arcadian brand. Information from newspaper archives shows that in October 1933 they advertised a single valve regenerative kitset, broadcast & short wave, for £Aus 32/-. The set was designed by EJ Lake (VK4EL), hence the name Lake-Set. They offered a seven valve Superhet in November 1933 as a kit for £Aus 14/10/- or complete for £Aus 15/10/-. Due to increased business they moved to larger premises at 170 Albert St., Brisbane in July 1934. They are mentioned in the Radio Trade Annual 1936 on Page 334. Newspaper advertisements ceased in 1944. |
