Summary: |
Norris & Skelley (Aristo) Norris & Skelley started as a firm of electrical engineers in 1917. In the early 20’s they imported wireless sets from England but ran into difficulties as the time taken for the sets to reach Melbourne made them out of date.
They manufactured the Aristo brand of radios possibly made from DeForest parts. In 1924 they moved to 211-213 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. In 1924 they listed everything from a crystal set to 3 to 5 valve sets and also up to a 7 valve set. They also held one of the experimental transmitting licences, 3NS in 1924. David Skelley started his own company in 1926 and Cyril Norris started trading as Norris Electric Co. There are no newspaper advertisements for Norris & Skelley radios after December 1926. |
