Cambridge Systems Technology Ltd trading as Audiolab was founded in 1983 by two graduates of Imperial College London, Philip Swift and Derek Scotland. It specializes in affordable hi-fi systems and has manufactured a range of stereo and surround sound systems. The company was acquired in 1997 by the McLaren Group, and became TAG Electronics Holdings Ltd. In 2004 Audiolab was taken over by the International Audio Group.
