Nombre: Airline, Super-Airline, Wards (tubes) - see also Montgomery Ward; Chicago, IL    (USA)
Abreviatura: airline-ra
Productos: Brand
Resumen:

Montgomery Ward and Co sold tubes branded Airline and later Super Airline. The first Airline tubes have the isolantite (porcelain) and there was a paper label on the glass showing the trade mark Airline, with a lightning bolt. This tube had the longer "UX" base and this was replaced by a long bakelite base, with the name and type number hot branded on the base. In 1927 the tubes were made with the shorter base and have amber glass.

Most of the bakelite based tubes had the Montgomery Ward catalog number branded into the base, below the tube type number. Around 1934 tubes were branded with the single name: Wards. No information has been located of any manufacturers but it is common belief that they were made by reputable companies.
