The company was registered in November 1935 with First Directors Frederick William Clarke and Beryl Mary Peckham.[1] They imported and manufactured iron dust cored inductances and IF coils using the principle developed by Hans Vogt in Germany in 1932 which he called Ferrocart. They also imported and manufactured Ferrocart brand vibrators.[2] Clarke was one of the Directors that set up Radio Corporation of Australia Pty Ltd in May 1926.[3] In April 1939 the company was acquired by the newly founded Electronic Industries Limted (EIL) Group but continued to function as an active subsidiary. [4] Clarke remained a director of Electronics Industries Limited until his resignation in 1951. In September 1946 Ferrocart (A/Asia) Pty. Ltd. changed its name to Electronics Industries Imports Pty. Ltd. Ferrocart branded products continued to be marketed by Electronics Industries Imports until its take over by Philips in 1970.
