During WW1 the company manufactured instruments, amplifiers and spark transmitters, and from 1920 it supplied high speed Morse equipment for the Press Association circuits. In 1924 the company entered the teleprinter field, and the following year Creed acquired the patents for the Murray 5-unit teleprinter code, which it used from 1926. In July 1928 a controlling interest in Creed & Company was acquired by ITT, opening the way to international markets. The company made several innovations in telecommunications technology and produced many thousands of teleprinters and associated apparatus. It was liquidated in 2004. |
