History:

February 11,1911 - Canada Wire is founded in Toronto, Ontario, manufacturing all types of electrical cables and steel rope wires.

1931 - Canada Wire opens copper mill in Montreal to fill the needs of the Toronto plant to supply large quantities of wire to the U.S market.

1945 - Opens devision in N.Y to manufacture building wire.

1956 - Opens another plant in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

1965 - Opens plant in Fergus, Ontario.

1991 - Purchased by Alcatel.

1996 -  Moves head office to present location in Markham, Ontario.

2001 - Becomes Nexans North America. Now has 11 plants and 1500 employees.
