History:

Egypt branch of NV Philips, founded in 1930 as Philips Orient with initial activities being importing and marketing of products. [1][2]

With Law No. 118 of 1961, Philips Egypt became a 50% public sector company and the name was changed to El-Nasr Electric and Electronic Apparatus while products where still sold with the Philips brand. [1]

The remaining 50% were bought by Egypt's Engineering Industries Holding Company in 1998, after which production of radios and TVs stopped. [2]
