Current official name - OAO "Elektrosignal". Started in 1931 as "Krasny Signalist Works" producing parts for railroad signaling equipment. Renamed to "Elektrosignal Works" in 1933. In 1934, production of "BI-234" and "SI-234" broadcast receivers started. Since early 1938, high-quality superhets "6N-1" have been manufactured with total number of receivers approaching 150,000 by June, 1941. Relocated to Novosibirsk in October, 1941, when German Wehrmacht troops came close to Voronezh, the "Voronezh Elektrosignal Works" gave birth to "Novosibirsk Elektrosignal Radio Works". In 1943 when Voronezh was safe from Wehrmacht attacks, the "Voronezh Elektrosignal Works" started new page of its business history. In 1945, broadcast receivers "Rodina-45" came out of its production lines. In post-war period, "Voronezh Elektrosignal Works" shared its production between military radios, professional mobile radios (for the railroads, etc.) and home entertainment radio- and TV sets. Most famous TV line was "Rekord" with so many different models of black-and-white and color TV sets. |
