BWBF sets were based on Bush and Roberts radios. Later, technologies such as tape cassettes, MP3 players and digital radios were adapted.

The British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF) was founded in 1928 by Ernest Beachcroft Beckwith Towse, with the object to "provide every blind man and woman in Great Britain and Northern Ireland with a wireless set".

This manufacturer was suggested by Jean-Paul De Feyter.
