History:

The company was started by Doug & Jim Eckford.

The company initially started as Fountain Mfg. Co. Ltd. and changed to Fountain Electronic Industries Ltd., with incorporation on August 2, 1963.

They started manufacturing domestic hi-fi amplifiers and this was later followed by guitar amplifiers.

Known guitar amplifiers were the Pathfinder and Thunderbird. In the early 1970’s guitar amplifiers were phased out and the company concentrated on solid-state domestic radios.

By the 1980s the company was concentrating only on car radios.

The company closed in 1991.[1]
