History:

The company was founded in 1918 by Homer E. Rawson, who had been vice president of the General Radio Company in Cambridge Mass. Rawson was the financial backer, and Arthur J. Rawson died in 1923 and Arthur Lush eventually assumed both ownership and direction of the company.

Arthur Lush died in 1963 and his son, Morley J. Lush, the new president, renamed the company to the Rawson - Lush Instrument Company Inc. the company also moved its operations to Acton, Massachusetts. (ref: Harvard University, Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments )
