Production of measurement devices, like oscilloscopes, generators and etc.

In 1940, after occupation of Lithuania by Soviet Army, based on equipment and staff of Elektrit it was created in Minsk company Радиозавод имени завода Молотова - Molotov Radio Factory. After crossing front back of territory in Vilnius in 1944 factory in Elektrit buildings was renewed like  Союзный Государственный завод 555 - Union State Plant 555. Since 1960 there was established a scientific-research institute of radio measurement devices too. Since 60`s factory produced oscilloscopes, power supply and analog devices for military use. In 1966 temporary company was named (as in SU at secret companies was usual) like Postbox 7859 and the factory merged with the institute, however in 1968 factory and institute was splitted again and company was renamed to Вильнюсский завод  радио измерительных приборов - Vilnius Plant of Radio Measurement Devices. In 1977 company was renamed to Промышленное Объединение им. 60-летия Октября - Industrial Association of October 60th Anniversary (60 years since communistic putsch in 1917, but the general director had name October too, thus many people thought, the he renamed company by himself )

Later company had a few daughter sites in different cities of SU. After crash of SU company went into bankruptcy  in 1998. Meantime in 1994 partially was transformed to company AB Rimeda, what produced measurement devices too, but it went into bankruptcy in 2006 too.

Small group of engineers on beginning of 90`s founded company Geozondas for production of nanosecond radars, RF and ultra wide band systems, time-domain antenna systems, pulse generators and etc, company is still active.
