History: |
The company was founded by Norman Partridge, B.Sc., A.M.I.E.E. in the early 1930s to manufacture transformers. In 1949 the company opened a factory in Tolworth Surrey with Trefor WILLIAMS, B.Sc., A.M.LE.E., as Chief Engineer. They manufactured high-quality power and audio transformers. Norman Partridge wrote two booklets prior to WW2, The P.A. Manual, and The Partridge Amplifier Circuits, both of which had a broad appeal. After the war, the Partridge Manual was introduced to replace the two. The designs in these books were implemented by other manufacturers using the Partridge transformer products. |
