Grace Brothers Ltd. Brand: Skyway Grace Bros, was an Australian department store chain that sold Australian-made radios and rebadged radios with the Skyway brand.
Grace Bros was an Australian department store chain, founded in 1885. It was bought by Myer (later Coles Myer) in 1983. There were 25 stores across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory plus a few in Victoria, until they were re-branded under the Myer name in 2004. |

In 1922 they set up a radio transmitting aerial on the roof of the store and started selling radios from their electrical department. [1] They transmitted music with a 5-watt tube during their 12-day sales and concerts were heard by some thousands of listeners. [2] During the 1930s and 1940s, they sold Australian-made radios under the Skyway brand. The actual Australian manufacturer of these radios is not known at present.
