Arcolectric Switches Ltd.

Established in 1932 at Croydon as Collier Electric Company Ltd., and renamed Arcolectric Switches Ltd. in 1939, the company moved to West Molesey in 1947, specialising in the manufacture of appliance switches, indicator lights and fuse-holders for electrical products such as computers, cookers, hairdryers and hi-fi equipment.

In the 1980s, Arcolectric took over the manufacture of some of the products of Crater Controls Ltd. on that company's demise, and in December 2003 Arcolectric Switches Ltd. became Arcolectric Ltd. and part of Elektron plc.

In 2016, Arcolectric merged with Bulgin, and Arcolectric products are now sold under the Bulgin brand.
This broadened Bulgin’s assortment, especially in the area of electro-mechanical switches, such as rocker switches, level switches, sliders, and door switches. The current product range includes push button switches, rocker switches, toggle switches, rotary switches, slide switches, voltage/refrigeration switches, safety cut-out switches, splash-resistant switches, indicator lights and fuse holders.

Recent introductions also include vandal-resistant and piezo switches which are designed with a high resistance to wear and tear, corrosion and harsh use in potentially hostile environments, such as access control applications. Applications include domestic and commercial appliances, security, metering, mobility devices, vending, audio/visual, lighting, HVAC, power generation and general industrial use.
