Photon Technology Co., Ltd. (Photon) is a Chinese Government-supported joint stock company that was founded in February, 1993. It has become the leading fibre-optic components and broadband optical transmission equipment manufacturer in China. The company's facility, located in the Hi-Tech Industrial Zone in Shenzhen, China, has a total of 65,000 square feet of engineering, manufacturing and administrative space.

Photon has supplied LEDs, FP lasers, DFB lasers, single fibre Bi-directional modules and SDH modules rated from 155 Mb/s to 2.5 Gb/s to almost every system manufacturer in China. In addition, the company has been playing an important role as a system manufacturer and integrator in the construction of the HFC interactive network in China.

From 1997, Photon has exported thousands of devices every month to customers in the USA, Japan, Korea and Europe. In 2001 the value of international sales reached nearly $18 million. From 2002, the company supplied several hundred special 1310 nm lasers for the Timing, Trigger and Control (TTC) systems of all the physics experiments at CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva.
