Resumen: |
Vectron Laboratories, Inc. Vectron is a manufacturer of electrical test instruments and sensors. Vectron Laboratories, self-styled "The Crystal Oscillator Company", was founded in Norwalk, Connecticut, by Stanley Tulgan, Julius Guttman and Alfred Camhi in 1966. In 1977 they registered the trademark with the name VECTRON superposed on a large 'V'. The trademark was reassigned to Delaware Capital Formation, Inc, in 1998. Tulgan served as vice president of engineering until his retirement in 1996, and he died in 2023 at the age of 95. The company was based at 166 Glover Avenue, Norwalk CT, until 2007, when it sold the property to Building and Land Technology (BLT) for $6.3 million. In 2015 BLT proposed to redevelop the site for apartments. |

Historia: |
In addition to all types of crystal oscillators, Vectron developed a range of sensors and BAW and SAW products such as resonators and bandpass filters. Several Vectron products were MIL qualified and many were used in North American and European satellite programs and by NASA on the space shuttle. PLLs using Vectron VCXOs were used in Tektronix instruments and in the Timing, Trigger and Control systems at CERN's physics experiments. In 1992, Vectron Laboratories was acquired by Dover Corporation and subsequently merged with other frequency control companies to become Vectron International, which was established in Hudson, New Hampshire, in 1999. In 2017 Vectron International was acquired for $130 million by Microsemi Corp, a provider of semiconductor and system solutions headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California. In 2018 Microsemi was in turn acquired by Microchip Technology in Chandler, Arizona, for over $10 billion. |
