Pathe Phono & Radio Co.; 20 Grand Ave., Brooklyn, New York - Trade name Minute Man.
Also known as "Pathe Phonograph Company" with a "Red Rooster Logo". The famous Pathe brothers, Emile and Charles, utilized a red rooster in the logo for their business, Pathe Freres Phonograph Company. Just as Nipper appeared on all Victor items, the red rooster appeared on all Pathe Freres Phonograph Company items, including Pathe disc records. The rooster made a striking mascot for the Pathe brothers. An advertisement was published in August, 1915 by the Pathe brothers, Emile and Charles. The Pathe Freres Phonograph Company had established a significant talking machine industry in France and brought their company to America shortly before this advertisement was published. The text describes the wonder, power, and fidelity of the Pathe Pathephone while touting there are "no needles to change" due to the Pathe round, smooth, genuine sapphire stylus. Information on securing stock for Christmas trade and territories for jobbers is also included in the advertisement. |
