Standard Radio & Electric Co.; - Trade names: Giblin, Radioear - see also Warwick Mfg. Corp. Or Pilot Radio & Tube Corp. Note: It was believed at one time this company had some relation with Warwick and or Pilot but no "proof" exists. The May 1922 Consolidated Radio Call Book listed the Standard Radio & Elec. Co. operated radio station 1XAD on wavelength 290 meters. Thos. P. Giblin. Station. 2 50-watt tubes, radius 400 miles. Heard at distances of 1,000 miles. Located at 463 Broadway in Pawtucket. Broadcasts three days per week, music, lectures and letters read. Now working on 290 meters. Aerial 70 foot long, 9 wires on spreader 15 feet, 11 wires on counterpoise. Ground, 11 wires 70 foot long, copper plates at end. |
