A brief history of the Workrite Manufacturing Company included:

• Vernon H Meyer operated National Motor Supply Co and changed production to radio components in 1921.
• 1922-24 saw the company offering kits and from March 1924 fully wired sets.
• In August 1924, to provide for the tremendous demand for Workrite radio sets on the Pacific Coast, a new branch in Los Angeles was opened where they manufactured Workrite five-tube super-hetrodyne sets. A Western sales office was located at 239 Los Angeles St., Los Angeles, California, managed by J.A. Hymer.
• In August 1927, the Company attempted to combine with others to form the United States Electric Company to obtain an RCA patent licence. However this joint venture failed in January 1928 and several companies went into receivership.
