Manufacturer of scientific instruments from the late 1890s, radio components, and radio receivers from the early 1920s until the late 1930s.

The Gambrell brothers began the production of scientific equipment for schools and laboratories in 1894.

In 1921, the brothers Thomas Edward & Charles Thos Gambrell were registered, as manufacturers of and dealers in electrical instruments and appliances. [1]

During the 1920s, the brothers began creating crystal sets and other radio receivers and components, introducing the first British AC/DC mains receiver, the Baby Grand, in 1926.

They produced radios from around 1922 to the early 1930s.

Halford Radio Ltd. of London was the sales distributor for Gambrell in the early 1930s. [2]

On 15 March 1939, the company went into voluntary liquidation. [3]

It should be noted that a possible subsidiary company, Gambrell Radio Communications Ltd. advertised as a service company undertaking Marine installations in the late 1930s. [4]

In May 1937 they advertised they had taken over the London Electric Appliances Ltd., Wayfarer radio. [5]

On 25 September 1940, the company went into voluntary liquidation. [6]
