The Cleartron Radio Ltd offices were located at 1 Charing Cross Road, London SW1 and the factory was at 21 Cumberland St Birmingham. The company was a subsidiary of the New York based Cleartron Vacuum Tube Company. In 1925, four tubes were manufactured (CT08, CT15, CT25 and CT25B). Other tubes followed while the Birmingham factory was in operation and some tubes were assembled from US made parts. An unusual feature of Cleartron tubes is that the exhaust "tip" on all tubes, both US and British made, was flattened slightly during manufacture. The reason for this is unknown |
