History:
Founded by Hubert Cecil Booth and listed as a Public company in 1903.
Produced vacuum cleaners, washing machines etc all under "Goblin" Brand.

1938 acquired Magneta (founded 1890s).
1940s to 1960s "Magneta (BVC)" subsidiary produces Industrial & Military "comfort" receivers and PA Systems later industrial clocks and Clock/Card time keeping (Clock in/out) factory systems.
Later Magneta (BVC) produces twin deck disco consoles

1947 produced "Teasmade" Clock/ Tea maker, Time spot Clock Radio and agents in most countries.

1943 manufacturing near Bangor Co. Down, Incendiaries during WWII. Later Production in Dundonald, just outside Belfast, N.I., though with "Leatherhead, England" model plates.

1969: Produced a company history, "The Goblin Story"
In 1973 acquired by Birmingham Sound Reproducers (BSR, later known as BSR Housewares, Swan Housewares became a subsidiary), well known in 1960s for record player decks.

In 1998 Goblin (but possibly only the brand, not BVC)was acquired by the Irish International Conglomerate Glen-Dimplex (Glen acquired UK Dimplex in 1977 from Receivers). Glen Dimplex also owns Morphy Richards Radio (1985) and Roberts Radio (1994)
