Wartime Joint Enterprise consisted of 44 British Manufacturers to produce the "Wartime Civilian Receiver" also known as the "Utility Set".
The radio was designed by Dr.G.D.Reynolds of Murphy Radio Ltd.
Three models were made:
An AC set, MW only (no LW station working that time in UK);
A Battery version, MW only;
And a post-war two band (MW/LW)AC version (July 29th 1945 BBC opened the new Light Programme on 1500m).
The cabinet was plain pinewood.
