General Motors Radio Corp.;Trade name after acquisition of Day-Fan by RCA the company was formed end of 1929, but did not survive. In response of an anti-trust suit by the Department of Justice in May 1930 RCA and GM liquidated GM-Radio about November 1931. Delco is a Trade name of General Motors. Day Radia, Darcraft, Dayfan, Daymar, Dayola and Daytonia are not Trade name by General Motors Radio. They belong to Day-Fan (see there). Both Grinders Collectors Guide and Riders are in error when they allocate pre 1930 models to GM Radio. An unknown number of 1929 Day-Fan models were produced in 1930 with paper labels inside the cabinets indicating that they are General Motors products. Tubes were made for the company in the 1940's and 50's, branded GM - Genuine Parts. |
