In 1948 Radio Industry Zagreb (RIZ) was established as a state controlled company for the production of radio broadcasting equipment, with intention to serve the needs of the Radio Zagreb station. Initially they produced electronic equipment, the first tube radio named "Maksimir" was produced in 1953. The last tube radio was produced in 1965. The company kept making electronic equipment, TVs and transmitters until the beginning of the war in 1991, when most part of company was destroyed. RIZ exist today still under the name "RIZ-Transmitters Co." as a successful private company concentrating research, manufacture and sales department on the 8600 m2 at the home address in Zagreb, Bozidareviceva 13, Croatia. Today RIZ produce power transmitters and watt-hour meters. |
