Historia:

AMROH NV is founded in 1923 by Georg C.F. Kauderer as "American Radio House". In the first years AMROH imports radio components from the USA, selling these in The Netherlands. In 1926 the name of the firm is shortened to AMROH. Pre-war brands imported by AMROH are Radio Instruments (audio transformers), Goodmans (loudspeakers), Belling-Lee (pickup cartridges, tube sockets, connectors), Dubilier (capacitors), Varley (coils, resistors), Wharfedale (loudspeakers), Westinghouse, Watmell, Novocon (coils) and Electro-Dynamic (transformers). In 1935 a own production facility (transformers, coils) is formed: Amutronics. In 1936 a publishing company "De Muiderkring NV" is established. This is the start of many succesfull publications in the field of do-it-yourself radio projects. A famous Muiderkring author was Dr. Blan, pseudonym for Drs. Ing. C.F. Ruyter (1908-2002). AMROH has a strong market position: a sales organisation, production facility and publisher, all in one hand, concentrating on radio products.

The AMROH radio kits use high-quality components, and are very well documented. The nineteen-fifties were the "Golden years" for AMROH, and a second production facility is started in Kollum. Also complete products were made, e.g. the "Handy Sound" line of tape recorders (1953-1963).
