In November 1953, Alec Davis (Supplies) Ltd. of 18 Tottenham Court Road, London was taken over by Clyne Radio Ltd. [1] The company greatly expanded the range of products sold and dropped the surplus equipment sold by Alec Davis. [2] They added products from Stern-Clyne Ltd. to their inventory in the early 1960s. [3] In October 1963 Clyne Radio Ltd., Premier Radio, and Stern Radio Ltd. amalgamated under the name Stern-Clyne Ltd. [4] They opened a nationwide UK network of retail Electronic Centres in London, and regional cities with Bristol being their 7th outlet in November 1963. They advertised the amalgamation would make “Great Britain's Greatest Electronic Hobbies Organisation”. [1] Wireless World Nov 1953, Page 145. |
