Elektropathologie

Der elektrische Strom als neue Technologie am Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts brachte wiederum neue Probleme mit sich. Durch die Verletzungen durch Elektrizität entstand in Wien unter Stefan Jellinek ein neuer medizinischer Arbeitsschwerpunkt, die Elektropathologie. 1906 wurde erstmals auf der Weltausstellung in Wien eine kleine Sammlung von elektropathologischen Ausstellungsstücken gezeigt. Der dortige große Erfolg begründete das Elektropathologische Museum in Wien. 2002 wurde das Elektropathologische Museum geschlossen und dem Technischen Museum übergeben, aber die Feuchtpräparate befinden sich im Pathologisch-anatomischen Bundesmuseum. Es wird eine Führung mit dem Schwerpunkt Elektropathologie im Pathologisch-anatomischen Bundesmuseum angeboten.

Vermittlungsprogramm "Elektropathologie"

Es gibt ein neues Vermittlungsprogramm zum Thema Elektropathologie im Pathologisch-anatomischen Bundesmuseum. Im Anschluß an eine Führung durch die elektropathologische Sammlung werden die wichtigsten technischen Grundlagen und Sicherheitsmaßnahmen im Umgang mit elektrischem Strom erläutert und mit Experimenten und Filmmaterial anschaulich dargestellt.
