Im noblen Marmorschlössl, dem ehemaligen Teehaus der Kaiserin Elisabeth, sind die photogeschichtliche Sammlung Hans Frank, einmalige Exponate und wechselnde Sonderausstellungen zu besichtigen. Präsentiert werden Highlights aus der Sammlung Frank, die einen eindrucksvollen Einblick in die Geschichte der analogen Fotografie von der Frühzeit bis ins 20. Jahrhundert vermitteln. Historische Kamera- und Bildobjekte erzählen spannende Geschichten, etwa zum Porträtbedürfnis des Bürgertums Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts, zur Berufsfotografie und Kameraindustrie in Österreich, zur Kunst- und Knipserfotografie um die Jahrhundertwende oder zur Entwicklung der Fotografie im Sommerfrische-Kurort Bad Ischl. Einen besonderen Schwerpunkt bildet der Themenbereich „Kaiserin Elisabeth und die Fotografie“. |
