Description

A Family devoted to Rolls-Royce
The "British Way of Life" has become a passion with the Vonier family. The whole Rolls-Royce Museum is based on their enthusiasm for the British Empire.
They have always been fascinated by Charles Stewart Rolls and Frederick Henry Royce and have admired their dedication to the handcrafting of supremely refined motorcars and over the years the Vonier family has built up an outstanding collection.
Over the last 40 years Hilde and Franz Vonier have not just collected cars and accessories, but also a lot of interesting items describing the life of Rolls-Royce owners.
The museum had originally been founded in 1982 as a private museum and was located at their private house in Klaus before it was moved to the present location at Gütle. The three sons, Franz Ferdinand, Johannes and Bernhard Ludwig have "inherited" their parents' fascination for cars and in 1995 when the parents were looking for a suitable location for their collection of over 1,000 exhibits the three sons supported the project wholeheartedly.
Since 1999 the museum has been open for visitors at the Gütle in Dornbirn. |
