Description | History WAVERLEY WOOLEN MILLS (WAVERLEY ROAD) 1987 - 1995 Geoff and Sylvia Smedley established the NAMT at Waverley in 1987. Cimitiere St Launceston 1996 - 2019 A not-for-profit foundation was formed to re-establish the museum to Cimitiere Street in 1996. The National Automobile Museum of Tasmania operated for 23 years at this location establishing itself as one of Australia’s finest automotive museums. Lindsay St - Invermay 2019 - present A new chapter began on the 30th September 2019 when the National Automobile Museum of Tasmania opened at 84 Lindsay Street Invermay. The National Automobile Museum of Tasmania provides changing theme displays and now features “The Hall of Muscle”, a celebration of the Australian Muscle Car. |
