Description | From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: CollectionThere are indoor and outdoor exhibits spread over a 100-acre (40 ha) site, including operating steam and gas rail equipment plus logging trucks. There are forest and nature trails, picnic area, playground, gift shop and a concession. At the Centre visitors can explore a reconstructed logging camp, forest fire lookout tower and the ranger's station. Smokejumpers and Water PumpersHoused in our Ranger Station and Lookout Tower, this new interactive exhibit interprets the jobs involved in Wildfire Management. It will include our simulated wildfire game played inside a helicopter! Ride the TrainRide one of our historic trains over the Somenos Lake trestle! Relax and enjoy views of the 100-acre museum from the train. |
