By train:
From Monday through Friday, except holidays, the Candiac/St-Constant, commuter train leaves at 9:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. from platform No. 2 at Lucien-L’Allier station in Montreal to St-Constant and makes a return trip from St Constant to Montreal with the No. 86 train at 1:27 p.m. and 4:26 p.m. (*with the No. 83 train to Candiac). *Please note that there is an agreement between exo – Réseau de transport métropolitain and Exporail: visitors are allowed to take the No 83 train to Candiac, stay on the train and return to Lucien-L’ Allier aboard the top train No 90 (no stops en route).

By bus:
Daily, hourly bus service between Montreal and Exporail leaves the downtown terminal located at 1000, de La Gauchetière Street West in Montreal (Bonaventure Metro). Bus No.130 at platform 13 will take you from the terminal to the Georges-Gagné autoparc in Delson. Then you transfer to either the 30A, 30B or 35 (depending on the schedule) which stops across from the Exporail parking lot.

From the Jacques-Cartier bridge:
Bear left and take the exit for 134W and continue along Taschereau Blvd. Take the exit going to 20W/132W towards 10/LaPrairie/USA and follow 132W, take Exit 42 towards Saint-Constant/Sainte-Catherine. At the 4th traffic light, turn left onto Saint-Pierre/209South.

From the Champlain Bridge:
Take the exit for 15 South towards La Prairie/USA. Take the Exit 42 going to 132W towards Saint-Constant/Sainte-Catherine. At the 4th traffic light, turn left onto Saint-Pierre Street/209South.

From the Mercier Bridge:
Take the exit for 132 Est toward Laprairie. At the 9th traffic light, turn right onto Saint-Pierre/209South. On Saint-Pierre Street look for a locomotive at a traffic light, on the left, at the entrance to Exporail's parking lot.
Description

Exporail, the Canadian Railway Museum has the largest railway collection in Canada. Here, visitors can climb aboard some of the vehicles on display in the Grand Gallery of the Angus Pavilion, as well as ride a tramway (mid-May to late October) or a mini-railroad (March to December). A guided tour reveals past travelling habits and more information about the founders and employees of the railway. In the miniature train room, young and old enter the world of railroad models through two networks in actual operation.
 

The collection includes:

160 vehicles
10,000 small artefacts;
a centennial railway station;
690 model trains;
four buildings typical of rail infrastructures.
 

Rides

Exporail offers three type of rides. Depending upon the season, the public can either climb aboard the miniature railway, the streetcar or the passenger train or all three. Rides and schedules may be modified or cancelled without prior notice.

Note the rides end 1 hour before Exporail closing time.

Miniature train A favourite among our youngest visitors! This 5-minute miniature train ride allows young and old to live a memorable experience. The train passes over three bridges and through one tunnel.

The rides are scheduled from March 1st, 2015 to January 4, 2016. The miniature railway ride schedule may change without notice.
 

Streetcar

The public can take a ride aboard a streetcar that circles the Exporail site. The streetcars are those that once serviced Montreal streets. Note, the streetcar stops during the lunch hour, from 12 pm to 1 pm.

The streetcar rides are offered every day Exporail is open, from May 21 to October 30, 2016, from 10:30 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 4 pm (5 pm during Summer). Schedules are subject to change or cancellation at any time without notice.
 

Passenger train

On Sunday afternoons, the public has the opportunity to board the Exporail passenger train for a short ride that lasts about 15 minutes. Passengers board the train next to Barrington station. Departure every 20 minutes from 12:30 pm.

Please note the rides will be offered on Sundays from May, 22 to October 30, 2016. Special schedule Monday: May 23, September 5 and October 10, 2016.
