Description

Translation from Wikipedia.fr:
In 1895, Guglielmo Marconi realized a wireless connection between Marécottes and Salvan (1.5 km). These experiments were authenticated in 2003 by the International Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) which set a bronze plaque on the "Pierre Bergère," boulder on which Marconi had filed transmitter unit.
This experiment, which is based on verbal statement and the collective memory of the inhabitants of Salvan, was the subject of controversy in Italy. Nevertheless, on 26 September 2008, the International Telecommunication Union has recognized the "invaluable contribution" Salvan heritage telecommunications. |
