| Description | Nicht Kohle oder Erz wurde hier einst gewonnen, sondern Alaunschiefer: ein schwarzes, chemisch aktives Gestein, welches in Sachsen nur an sehr wenigen Orten zu Tage tritt und abgebaut wurde. Aus ihm gewannen die Alaunsieder mit beinahe alchemistisch anmutenden Verfahren den Alaun, ein einstmals hochgeschätztes und teures schwefelsaures Salz. |
