Aalen ist eine mittelgroße Stadt im Osten Baden-Württembergs, etwa 70 km östlich von Stuttgart und 50 km nördlich von Ulm entfernt. Sie liegt im Tal des oberen Kocher in der sogenannten Aalener Bucht am nordöstlichen Rand der Schwäbischen Alb. Bahn Der Hauptbahnhof Aalen ist Knotenpunkt zwischen der Bahnstrecke Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt–Nördlingen mit der Brenzbahn von Ulm und der Bahnstrecke Goldshöfe–Crailsheim von Crailsheim. Die im Zweistundentakt verkehrende InterCity-Linie 61 von Karlsruhe über Stuttgart nach Nürnberg schließt Aalen an den Schienenpersonenfernverkehr an. Im Regionalverkehr wird der Bahnhof Aalen von verschiedenen Interregio-Express-, Regional-Express- und Regionalbahn-Linien bedient. |
