Description The permanent fishery display depicts the Danish sea fishery with main emphasis on the period 1880-1940, when fishing moved from coastal fishing with big dories to open sea fishing with cutters.

Shipping
Wadden Sea – World Sea: Highlights from the Viking era to the present are Ribe, Fanø and Esbjerg’s shipping.

Open air
The Fisheries and Maritime Museum’s open air displays depict coastal fishing hamlets, small harbours and wooden vessel shipyards in the years around the Second World War. The displays were created with the aid of original buildings which were moved from Esbjerg harbour to the museum, and reconstructions of houses which were formerly at the harbour or along the coast.

Description
(other)
