By car: Heaton Park is adjacent to junction 19 of the M60 ring road. Parking is available on Middleton Road and Sheepfoot Lane. By bus: Many buses pass by the Middleton Rd park entrance. By Metrolink: Heaton Park station is on the Bury line and is a 10 minute walk through the park to Lakeside. Bowker Vale is a 15 minute walk to Middleton Road gates |
Description | Heaton Park Tramway is run by the Manchester Transport Museum Society. They have a variety of electric trams some in store and others operational and running on a stretch of track dating back to the original Manchester Tramway which used to operate into the park. Since opening in 1980, the was line three times extended and run from Middleton Road to the boating lake. |
