The museum is located inside Cagliari station, immediately accessible from the car entrance in via Sassari 24.

Cagliari station is located in the middle of the city and counts a railway depot 200 m in north and parallel to the line.

The station, which like the other stations in Sardinia is not electrified,[3] is served by regional trains linking it to almost all the island towns.

Lampen des alten Bahnhofs,
Fahrkartenverkauf und Wartezimmer aus der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts,
das Modell des Schiffes der Italienischen Eisenbahn Gennargentu,
offizielle Uhren der Eisenbahn,
Tresore.

Besonders interessant ist das Wohnzimmer, das bis 1943 im königlichen Wagen von König Vittorio Emanuele III. untergebracht war, der während seines Besuchs auf Sardinien benutzt wurde.
