By car:

* coming from the West (Coastal road-Miramare), walk the shores all the way down to them, and turn left to a traffic lights.
* coming from the North (Opicina, Slovenia) reach the Central Station and then follow the banks as in case of coming from the West.
* coming from the East (Highway, Slovenia), after a goods yard, as soon as you arrive on the banks, turn left two times.

By train:

* leaving the station turn left, take the bus number 8, direction Valmaura, get off at the last stop on the shores or at the next one (Post Office).

There it will be possible notice the old station; the entrance to the Museum is on the longest side, below the small shelter.
Description

Das Eisenbahnmuseum Triest (Museo ferroviario di Trieste Campo Marzio) ist im ehemaligen Staatsbahnhof Stazione dello Stato von Triest untergebracht (seit 1923 Campo Marzio).

Geschichte
Der planmäßige Zugverkehr zum Bahnhof wurde 1959 eingestellt. 1984 wurde in diesen Räumlichkeiten das Eisenbahnmuseum errichtet. Betreiber des Museums ist der private Verein Associazione Dopolavoro Ferroviario di Trieste, der mit ehrenamtlichen Mitarbeitern und minimalem Budget arbeitet.

In den Ausstellungsräumen werden Fotografien und Pläne aus allen Epochen der wechselvollen Eisenbahngeschichte Triests und Italiens gezeigt, darunter eine Uniformensammlung und auch Erinnerungsstücke aus der Gründerzeit der Straßenbahn Triest–Opicina sowie der Wocheinerbahn. Des Weiteren gibt es eine Fachbibliothek und Sammlungen von Modellen, andere Abteilungen widmen sich den Signalen und anderen sicherungstechnischen Einrichtungen sowie der Bahnstromversorgung. Im Foyer in der Via Giulio Caesare finden immer wieder temporäre Ausstellungen statt.

Im Außenbereich sind auf einigen der ehemals 24 Gleisen alte Lokomotiven, Reise- und Güterzüge sowie Bahnerhaltungsfahrzeuge und Straßenbahnen ausgestellt.
